Pastor's Weekly Message

“The death and resurrection of Jesus is the heart of our faith and the basis of our hope.” – Pope Francis: Spes Non Confundit, paragraph 20.

As the month of October winds to a close, we are grateful for many experiences in the life of our parish. This began on the 1st with the change of our Wednesday Mass time to the evening as part of the new Wednesday Experience. We celebrated Grandparents Day with our school family and many visitors from near and far. And we joined with nearly 600 people for the celebration of Confirmation with Bishop Powers and 35 confirmands. All glory be to God.

Next weekend we will begin the month of November with our annual remembrance of those who have died in the last year. At each of the weekend Masses we will have the opportunity for individuals to carry in a candle and place a photo of the deceased in our sanctuary where they will be remembered throughout the month. If you have any questions, please contact our director of worship Sari Althoff.

In addition to this liturgical remembrance, we will also begin a four-week preaching series on death and dying titled Arise. Throughout November we will highlight in homilies, bulletin articles, and on our website, stories and resources to help all of us foster a greater spirit of hope as we consider the reality of death.

Gracias a Dios.
