Fill The Cracks Ministry

Fill The Cracks Ministry: A Hand Up, A Way Forward

Mission Statement: To be The Face of Christ to community members and released jail inmates struggling to regain their way in the world by providing resources to allow them to stand proudly on their own, again.

Goal: To assist those struggling to find resources such as transportation, housing, employment, clothing, food banks, sober houses, treatment facilities and other essentials.

  1. We are not mentors, we are resource locators.
  2. We are to be empathetic to the “client”, but remain DETACHED in our assistance efforts; to give them a hand up, not a handout; helping them to become more self reliant; relying on them to do their own “heavy lifting”.

Our faith, prayers and living  out “The Golden Rule” WILL change lives.

Volunteers are being sought for participation in the Fill the Cracks Ministry.

Volunteer Requirements:
1 - A Big Heart for men and women being released from jail.
2- The ability to meet 1:1 to survey client needs and use our database for solution recommendations.
3- Have the heart of a social worker with passion to assist clients needing emergency housing to transitional housing.
4- Creative problem-solving skills.

Please contact Deacon Gregg Miller at 612-270-0388 for more information and/or to get involved.
