The Bethlehem Peace Light has arrived! This year the journey to spread the light has taken on a different route and a different message. With the unrest continuing in Israel, the Peace Light was not able to be lit from the lantern in Bethlehem. The beauty of the Peace Light is that people around the world who have received it in the past have kept their own lanterns burning perpetually with the Light. These individuals are called Keepers of the Light! The light arrived at Saint Patrick Church from one such Keeper and now everyone is encouraged to bring a lantern to Church and light their own Peace Light from this flame. Then take the Peace Light to your home and keep a candle burning with it throughout the Christmas season. Continue to spread the light and take that flame and share it with families and friends; just as we are called to share the Light of Christ and disperse the darkness of our world!
You can find the Peace Light in the Gathering Area across from the Solanus Casey Chapel entrance. Lanterns to be borrowed and brought back are available to transport the light to your homes if needed.
