Youth & family discipleship

Grow

4K - 5th grade

Family Discipleship is the intentional journey of spiritual growth that families embark on together, integrating faith into daily life through practices like worship, prayer, and study. It strengthens familial bonds by fostering open communication, understanding, and support as members navigate life's challenges together. Ultimately, it cultivates a legacy of faith, love, and unity passed down through generations.

GROW in a welcoming environment! Families learn about the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith together! We partner with parents to guide children toward a heart for God and to make disciples within the context of families.

About Grow

At the heart of Family Discipleship is Jesus, the person of Jesus. A relationship with Jesus is best passed on through family life. Family Discipleship is a dynamic process of shared learning experiences that spill over into the family’s everyday life as they open the doors to discussion of the Catholic faith and to opportunities to encounter Jesus.

Once a month, parents and children gather at church to learn about the same topic of Faith. Through this time together as a parish, families are encouraged not only by parish staff, but by other families who are also undertaking the same task of raising their children in the Faith.

During the once a month session students in Grades preK-5 meet in classes, divided by grade level, where trained catechists present the lessons. Parents gather as a separate group where they are evangelized, catechized, encouraged, and equipped. This adult component is key to the transmission of Faith in the home. A portion of the monthly gathering also includes a time for parents and children to come together for a shared prayer experience or activity.

Also during the monthly gathering at the parish, families are given a packet of weekly lessons to use at home throughout the rest of the month. These Home Lessons are easy to use and have been developed and used by parents amidst typical busy family life. The lessons bring the whole family together to study and then apply the teachings to their day-to-day life. Down-to-earth, engaging and easy-to-use, the curriculum focuses on introducing families to a living encounter with Christ while exploring the basics of the Catholic faith, with the Gospel as the central element. The 2025-2026 year is the BEST year to get started with Family Formation!
