A Prayer for our Soldiers
Loving Father,
Bless the lives of the men and women who have given selflessly in service to our country in times of peace and in times of war. Protect all those who are serving today, especially those in harm's way. Help us build peace in our families, schools, and communities, and guide our leaders to work for a lasting peace in our world.

We also made a commitment to support those who are currently serving by sending packages to soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have named this part of the program SERVING OUR SOLDIERS (aka S.O.S.) We collected items at school during Catholic School Week this year.
On behalf of all our soldiers, Mrs. Bekkum and Miss Pieper want to thank you for donating items to be sent to soldiers currently serving our country around the world. We sent 22 packages to specific relatives and friends of St. Patrick families and five huge boxes to soldiers in Iraq we were connected with through the Perfect family in 2006. In the spring of 2007, we sent a second shipment of 16 packages to soldiers overseas.
I(we) received a heartfelt thank you from three of those soldiers. These packages and our prayers do indeed make a difference in the lives of those soldiers. We will continue to pray for all of our soldiers no matter where they are serving. I hope you will all remember and pray for them also. A special thank you to all those who helped to package up the boxes and to the Hudson Education Foundation who gave us grant money to pay for the shipping of the packages.
