WELCOME TO THE 2008 – 2009 SCHOOL YEAR

Let's make this a great year!

“Be it known to all who enter here that Christ is the reason for this school, the unseen and ever-present teacher in its classes, the model of its faculty, the inspiration of its students.”  ~ Author Unknown

“Our country's future will be determined by the home and the school. The child becomes largely what is taught, hence we must watch what we teach it, and how we live before it.”  ~ Jane Addams

New This Year: School Pictures At Back-To-School Day And EZ Pay for Supplies and Fees!

Back-to-School Day will be on Wednesday, August 27. It will combine packet night, locker/desk set-up, meet-the-teacher, and Parent Information Night. Much of the Back-to-School day will be in the form of an Open House. You and your student(s) may come for all or part of the day. Snacks will be available throughout the day. School pictures will be taken from 3:00 – 7:00. Families can meet teachers, set-up lockers and desks, and pick-up curriculum materials any time between 2:30 and 7:30. In addition, middle school students and their parents are asked to attend one of the middle school meeting sessions scheduled at 4:30 and 6:30. Each session will begin in the students' homeroom.

EZ Pay for Supplies and Fees
Are you tired of writing multiple checks to St. Pat's for supplies and field trips, etc? New this year is EZ Pay. You can write one check to St. Pat's to cover fees. We will then deduct from your account as fees arise. This will work much like your existing lunch account. You can deposit money into your fee account at any time throughout the year via check or credit/debit card using the PayNow option on Ren-web. You will be able to track your account via Ren-Web.

Supply Kitsordered last spring will be in your students' classrooms for Back-to School Day. Bulk supplies needed for specific classes will also be delivered to classrooms. (These are the supplies that were in the past purchased on packet night.) The fee for these supplies will be charged to your family fee account.

Welcome to new staff member Mary Seyer who will be teaching Middle School Religion. Mrs. Seyer will be a 6th grade homeroom teacher along with Mrs. Weinkam. Mrs. Shilson moves to a 7th grade homeroom along with Mr. Margenau. Mrs. Wiebold and Mr. DuBois continue as 8th grade homeroom teachers.

The first day of school for all students will be Tuesday, September 2.School hours for grades 1-8 are 8:40 A.M. - 3:25 P.M. Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten sessions are from 8:40 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. And 12:30 P.M. - 3:25 P.M. Each school day is filled with activities. It is important for all students to be here for the beginning of each day.

Our student information system, RenWeb,  will have a new look at the beginning of the school year. The access direction sheets will be in the family packet along with log-on reminders.

The family emergency contact sheet has been partially filled out for you with the information we have from last year and is included in this mailing. Please make corrections before returning to school. An email will be sent to you with the drivers' form, walking permission slip, and code of conduct. Please complete the forms and return on Back-to-School Night. If you do not have email access, please contact school for the forms. They may also be downloaded and printed by clicking on "Parent Forms" unter "Parent Information" on the right navigation bar on this website.

Busing
Please call the District Transportation Office at 377-3707 if you have not received your bus schedule. As we have done in past years, we will pair younger students with older for help with the bus during the first weeks of school.

School Liturgies
Please join us for our first liturgy of the new school year on Friday, September 5 at 9:15 A.M. In the school gym. You are welcome to join us for all of our school liturgies that generally are Friday mornings beginning at 9:00. Check the school calendar, family folder letters, and web-site calendars for any changes.

Volunteers
We are always in need of volunteers. We need library aides, playground and lunchroom aides, classroom volunteers, field trip chaperones, coaches. The list goes on. Please visit the sign-up tables in the gym on back-to-school night to volunteer.

May God bless each of us as we embark on the journey of this new school year together.

I hope you enjoy the remaining days of summer vacation.
