Sixth Grade Religion:
Students are introduced to the history, structure, and organization of the Catholic Bible. Students learn about the process of canonization and the lives of the saints. Students will study the Liturgical Calendar and how it shapes the expression of our Catholic faith. Students will examine our faith community and the many ways members of our parish serve each other and our community.
Seventh Grade Religion:
Students study the history of the Catholic church focusing on the mission of the Church to bring the word of God to all people. Students will learn about the missionaries who brought the Catholic faith to Asia and North Africa. Students will analyze World Religions comparing the beliefs of other faiths to the theology of the Catholic Church. Students will study the history of the Second Vatican Council and the documents that resulted from the council.
Eighth Grade Religion:
Students will evaluate issues facing our society through the lens of Catholic Social Justice teachings. Students will study the history of the Catholic Church including the Council of Trent and the Reformation. Students will plan and execute an all school event to raise funds for charity. Students will examine Human Sexuality in the context of the teachings of the Catholic Church.
