Minutes of May Meeting

St. Patrick Church Pastoral Council
May 23, 2006 (approved)

Present:          Fr. John, Sr. Bernadette, Rick Reams, Howard Cameron, Jeanne Darnold, Mary Seyer, Sam Cari , Carrie Whitacre, Shawn Porter, Tom Brinsko, Mark Sturino.

Prayer                        Father John led the council in prayer.

Call to Order: Father John called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm.

Agenda           The agenda was approved as presented

Minutes:         The minutes from the April, meeting were approved as presented.

Operation Moses:      John Booth from the Knights of Columbus spoke to the council regarding the placement of a monument of the ten commandments either at the church or the school. The cost of the monument would be approximately $4,500.00 which the Knights would raise. More information on the project, which is nationwide, is available at www.projectmoses.com. The council agreed to take the project under advisement. The buildings and maintenance committee will be consulted as to where it would be feasible to place the marble monument on the church or school grounds.
Parish Administrator: Tom Brinsko, of the finance council, reported that the finance council was enthusiastic about hiring an administrator for the parish. The finance council is presently preparing a fiscal year end report for the parish council. Tom recommended and the council agreed to delay further action on the position of administrator until the July parish council meeting at which the finance council will present a report.
Officers:         Sam Cari agreed to accept the appointment of Chairperson of the council for the next two years. Mary Seyer agreed at Father’s request to continue as Secretary. Father John stated that he will be searching for a Vice Chairperson to fill the position that Sam had previously held. Adoration Update: Rick Reams reported that new software was being implemented to assist in the scheduling of adoration. The council thanked Rick for taking on the important task of ensuring that the chapel is never empty during the hours of adoration. Rick stated that he would keep the council informed of the status of adoration at our parish.
Parish Meeting:         Father John reported that Teamworks hopefully would be sending a report to the parish council for its review within the next month.
Standing Committees: The council agreed to invite the chairpersons of the seven standing committees to the June 20th parish council meeting to discuss communication
between the council and the committees.

Adjournment:            The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:30pm.
