Prayer     Father John led the council in prayer.

Call to Order: Sam Cari called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm.

Agenda The agenda was  approved as presented, with the addition of a closed session.

Minutes:  The minutes from the April, meeting were approved as presented.

Parish Administrator:   Father John announced that Deacon Ken Schaefer has been hired for the new position of Parish Administrator and had started his employment on May 21, 2007.  Father John stated that Deacon Ken has both the spiritual and business background to serve our parish.

 
Education Committee: Jayne Cernohous and Mary Piasecki shared with the council some of the many ways that there committee was reaching out to the parish community.  One way was a coffee social that the Home and School Association was sponsoring once a month after the Friday morning mass at the school.  Another way was through the new school web site and email list.  The education committee is also looking into ways to reach out to alumni of the school.  The committee brought this ministry question to the council: How can we as a parish community reach out across committees to work together as a parish? One example was the Family Skills workshop in which Education, RFP, Faith Enrichment and Family Life committees worked together.  Another Family Workshop has been scheduled for February 16, 2008.  The council thanked Mary and Jayne for their report and discussed ways we could work together on future parish concerns.

 
Parish Nurse: Bev Radermacher and Nancy Sinnett presented a report to the council on the creation of a parish nurse program at our parish.  The council thanked Nancy and Bev for their comprehensive presentation.   The council asked Bev and Nancy to speak with Ken about the parish nurse project and report back at the June meeting.

 

Closed Session:   Chairperson Cari called the council to order in closed session at 8:21pm.   The council was called back into open session at 9:02pm no action was taken.

Adjournment:  The meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:02pm.
