| Middle School
St. Patrick Middle School Formation uses the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies series as its basic curriculum guide. Each week the Middle School teens receive a weekly magazine that covers the Gospel lesson for the coming weekend so that teens are ready to enter into the action of worship at mass. teens meet in small groups hosted by at least two unrelated adults in a home setting. Catechists guide the discussion of the topic in a small group session where the young person's voice both “needs to” and “can” be heard. Additional service opportunities and social sessions round out the Middle School curriculum providing teens with the connections to each other, the parish, and the community.
Middle School Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry is the response of the Christian Community to the needs of young people, and the sharing of the unique gifts of youth with the larger community. St. Patrick Parish embraces this challenge by focusing the Church’s ministry with young people on three essential goals: Spiritual, Social, and Service.
Youth Ministry in the Middle School years begins to address the call to growth as a disciple in recognizing personal involvement and responsibility as a Christian in the world. Several opportunities for service, community-building, and spiritual sharing will be offered through
Middle School Mondays in order to respond to the needs and expectations of young people. Middle School Mondays and other small group events will serve as opportunities for young people to connect their knowledge of their Catholic faith developed through their faith formation with the use of their practical gifts, talents and energy for living the Catholic faith in today’s world.
