Minutes of June Meeting
St. Patrick Church Pastoral Council
June 20, 2006 (approved)
Present: Fr. John, Sr. Bernadette, Howard Cameron, Jeanne Darnold , Mary Seyer, Sam Cari , Carrie Whitacre, Shawn Porter, Mark Sturino , Rich O’Connor,

Prayer Father John led the council in prayer.
Call to Order: Father John called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm.
Agenda The agenda was approved as presented
Minutes: The minutes from the May, meeting were approved as presented.
Finance : Tom Brinsko chairperson of the Finance Committee gave a preliminary report on the parish finances. The fiscal year for the parish runs from July 1 to June 30. The Finance Committee is planning for the 2006 to 2007 fiscal year. A final report will be mailed to all registered members of the parish in September and the Finance Committee will take questions on the final report at a parish meeting in September.
One goal of the Finance Committee is to pay off short term loans and to continue to pay down the two million dollar debt that is carried by the parish.
Volunteer Training Program: Mary Piasecki, school principal reported on a grant that she had received to finance the creation of an online training program for all volunteers who work with children in the parish. This would include volunteers who work in the RFP program, volunteers who coach, and volunteers who work with the children’s choir. Mrs. Piasecki reported that she hoped to hold informational meetings for all volunteers in August. This program would fulfill the requirement of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to educate volunteers on the important issue of child protection. The council thanked Mrs. Piasecki for her work on behalf of the parish.
Standing Committees: The council agreed to invite the chairpersons of the seven standing committees to the July 25th parish council meeting to continue the discussion on communication between the council and the committees.
Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:30pm.
