St. Patrick Church Pastoral Council

Present: Fr. John, Sam Cari, Mary Seyer, Carrie Whitacre, Mark Sturino, , Howard Cameron, Rick Reams, Shawn Porter.Also present: Mary Piasecki, Larry Huiras, Tim O’Brien, Kathy Smolinske, Claire Zajac, Maureen Wegleitner, Prayer: Father John led the council in prayer.Call to Order: Sam Cari called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.Agenda: The agenda was approved as presented.Minutes:The minutes from the May meeting were approved. Budget:Brian Huffman informed the council that the finance council was working on the budget and he agreed to come back to the council in July with more information. Elections:The council adapted an amendment to the bylaws Five new members will be elected in 2008, with the following terms: 2 members with 4 year terms; one member with a 3 year term; and 2 members with a one year term; in 2009 2 new members are elected to four year terms; in 2010 two members are elected, on outgoing member would be selected to serve an extra year; and each year thereafter two new members would be selected for four year terms.
The council agreed that the election would be held; August 16 and 17 at all masses. The council agreed that four members would speak at mass the weekend of July 12 and 13 asking the people of the parish for nominations to the council. The council agreed that all nominees would attend a discernment meeting Thursday, August 14th at 7:00pm at which council members would be present to answer any questions.
