St. Patrick Church Pastoral Council

July 25, 2006 (approved)

Present:          Fr. John,   Howard Cameron, Jeanne Darnold, Mary Seyer,  Sam Cari , Carrie Whitacre, Shawn Porter, Mark Sturino, Rich O’Connor, Rick Reams.

Also present:  Linda Radtke, , Jayne Cernohous, Bev Radamacher, Maureen Wegleitner, Sue and Todd Stuessy, Mary Pat Finnegan, John Guldan,  Reg Klubeck, , Maryann Kappler, Tim O’Brien,



Prayer       Father John led the council in prayer.

Call to Order:    Father John called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.

Agenda           The agenda was  approved as presented

Minutes:         The minutes from the June, meeting were approved as presented.

 

Fall Fest:
        Lori Gross reported that the Parish Fall Fest will be Friday September, 15, Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17.   They will be repeating many of the successful events from last year including the 3 on 3 basketball tournament, the Fun Fest Run and the Giant Inflatable Games.  There are many opportunities to volunteer that weekend and the committee chairs were asked to take this information to their committees. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Lori at 531-0036.  The council thanked Lori and the Fall Fest Committee for their commitment to the parish.

Parish Administrator:
           Father John stated that any discussion of additional staff for the parish would have to wait until the financial condition of the parish improves.  The Finance committee will be reporting to the parish on the financial statement of the parish in September. The council agreed to postpone the discussion until after the September meeting.

Standing Committees:  The council  and the chairpersons of the seven standing committees of the parish agreed that in order to improve communication between the Pastoral council and the standing committees the chairpersons of each committee would attend the Pastoral Council meetings.  If a chairperson cannot attend a meeting the chairperson would ask another member of the committee to attend and report back to the committee.  It was further agreed that the Council would reserve time at each Council meeting for a report from one Standing Committee.  The Stewardship committee will be reporting at the  August 29th Meeting.

StewardshipThe stewardship committee reported that they hope to go forward with a Time and Talent survey in October of this year.  They asked each committee to provide to the council a statement for a booklet which will be distributed in October.  The booklet will list the many ways people of the parish can give of their time and talent through the committees.  The stewardship committee asked that each Chairperson drop off their wish list to the parish council mailbox by  Monday, August 28 so the parish council secretary can make copies for the Tuesday, August 29th meeting.

Adjournment:            The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:25pm.
