St. Patrick Church Pastoral CouncilJuly 22, 2008 (approved) Present: Fr. John, Sam Cari, Mary Seyer, Carrie Whitacre, Mark Sturino, Howard Cameron, Rich O’Connor, Shawn Porter
Also present: Terry Bogenhagen, Larry Huiras, Tim O’Brien, Tom Brinsko, Brian Huffman, Terese Mitchell, Jerry Schnobrich. Prayer: Father John led the council in prayer.Call to Order: Sam Cari called the meeting to order at 7:08 pm. Agenda: The agenda was approved as amended to include a discussion of the need for a Pastoral Administrator and the upcoming Fall Fest.Minutes:The minutes from the June meeting were approved as amended.Budget: Tom Brinsko, Brian Huffman, Terese Mitchell and Jerry Schnobrich reported to the council that the projected income for the 2008-2009 fiscal year would not be enough to meet the projected expenses. The pastoral council and the finance council discussed what actions should be taken. There was unanimous agreement that the parish should not leave the position of parish administrator vacant. Both councils advised that the process to find a new administrator should begin as soon as possible. Realizing that this process will take three months or more the possibility of finding a retired parishioner with experience in this field to serve as an interim administrator was discussed. Elections: The council agreed that one of the first orders of business for the new council would be to create a by-laws sub-committee to update the by-laws of the council to be submitted to the diocese. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:45pm.
