November minutes approved
Faith Community
High school update – The committee is currently working on
an online survey. Next step will be establishing specific focus groups.
Update on 5th grade parent information meeting– Approximately
attended by 12 parents. Mrs. Weinkam
& Mrs. Shilson, along with several high school kids, spoke & answered
questions about the transitions into middle school and into high school. A positive response was received.
Stewardship
Claire provided an update on the Time & Talent Survey:

Received over 400 pledge cards and a slightly
lower number of Time & Talent cards.

Each committee will be contacting interested
members. Jane has followed up for the Education Committee and has received a
very positive response.

All those who sent in a finance card received a
personally signed thank-you from Father Parr.
·
Feedback is being collected on how to improve
the process. They are still hoping to
reach 500 responses.
Another fall
mailing to be determined. A master list
of all ministries & their point of contacts will be created.
Review Vision 2007 Goals – Tabled until March. Committee members are asked to review goals,
with specific emphasis on the broad goals.
Parent Conference w/Parish Committees - Mary Piasecki spoke
on the March 31 Parent Workshop. The
purpose is to establish a spirit of welcoming & hospitality and strengthen
the web of communication. The keynote speaker will be Corwin Kronenberg
(Parenting with Love & Limits) with 2 to 3 breakout sessions on various
topics (i.e. praying with kids, web savvy, nutrition, good sports etiquette). The
overall theme of the workshop is how to raise kids in a counter cultural manner
within the ministry of Christ.
Preliminary meeting next week- Carol & Lisa volunteered to help.
Students & Staff
Iowa Testing Results – Mary
Piasecki gave an overview of the results. The results will be used by the
teachers to evaluate progress, plan curriculum and identify students with high
or low results. Results indicate overall students are above average nationally.
Editing skills and math computation were one of the lowest in result scoring.
Teachers will look at how these areas can be enhanced in classroom.
Catholic School Week update – Mary Seyer has organized students
& speakers for Mass.
Uniforms for Middle School – Carol shared ideas about survey
questions for uniform changes (no jeans) and listened to committee ideas. She
will email ideas out to committee members. Survey questions will eventually be
sent out to parents.
All Day Kindergarten – February meeting
Wellness Policy – February meeting
Renweb update – Lunch payment will eventually be accepted online. Renweb is generally going well and has been
utilized more in middle school. Parents are encouraged to check once a week.
