I. Call to Order and Prayer by Kiki Roth
II. Introduction of Officers and parents attending
III. Treasurer’s Report
A. Church stipend - $5,000
IV. Vice President Report – Kim Burns
A. Doughnut Sunday – The system is working well. The 4th grade classes will be in charge of doughnuts next Sunday.
V. Old Business
A. By-Laws
1. A formal vote will be required on current changes to by-laws
2. There were no additional feedback/ changes pertaining to the by-laws and impending changes
3. Voting for any change to the amendments must take place during a meeting and not strictly through an executive committee meeting.
4. A request for funds totaling less than $200 may be approved by the executive committee without a vote during a general meeting
5. Motion made and carried
B. On-line Voting
1. Results will be posted on web
2. Discussed drafting procedures for on-line voting
3. On-line voting will be used as a guide – not a binding vote but will allow for greater input from those not able to attend meetings
4. Formal vote will still take place during meetings
VI. New Business
A. Mary Piasecki proposed budgeting into the yearly school budget those programs/functions that are deemed to have merit but still are required to request funds annually (i.e SSOP, 8th grade graduation expenses).
1. Questions proposed: What fundraising do we need to do to provide for our budgeted programs? How are we spending our money?
2. Kelly Riplinger volunteered to contact chairs of the major fundraisers & programs for their proposed budgets
3. Prior budgeting for programs/activities will not eliminate new programs
4. A budget will be proposed in March and a spreadsheet of income/expenses will be put on the school website. The formal vote will take place at the April meeting
B. Art Adventure Program – Mary Pat Finnegan requested a total of $360 to cover the cost of training parent volunteers, rent reproductions, and purchase art supplies. Motion made and carried
C. Volunteer Hours
1. Brief discussion on how to encourage greater volunteer hours, including the idea of minimum volunteer hours and appropriate ways to reach a greater number of families
VII. Parent Education
A. Dr. Marjory Law spoke on a variety of issues including:
· ADHD
· anxiety disorders/bi-polar (manic-depression)
· childhood stress/bullying
· self-empowerment/good mental health/emotional coping skills
