Hello.  My name is Rick DuBois. 
I teach seventh grade language arts, seventh grade world geography, and eighth grade U.S. history.
I have been teaching for twenty years --  this being my nineteenth year at St. Pat's.
I moved from Canada to Warroad (MN), graduating from high school there in 1982.  I graduated from St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN) in 1986 with a B.A. in Education, Exercise Studies, and Health, along with a Coaching Certificate.  I continue to work towards my master's degree through the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

In past years at St. Pat's, I have also taught sixth grade language arts and world history, seventh and eighth grade literature, and French for sixth, seventh, and eighth grades.  I also coached eighth grade s basketball and softball for ten years.
Other coaching included thirteen years with the Hudson High School boys soccer and various levels with Hudson Hockey Association.
I also ref high school and youth hockey in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.

I also serve as the tour moderator for the eighth grade trip to Washington, D.C.  This is an annual trip that our students take with eighth graders from the Hudson Middle School.  This is not a school-sponsored trip; students do not have to go.  Hudson Middle School has been doing this trip for the past eight years; myself and St. Pat's students have been on the trip for the past six years.  Information is given to eighth grade students in the fall.

As a complement to academics, I coordinate St. Pat's annual Career Fair Day for the middle school.  This one-day activity brings in twenty-five to thirty individuals of various professions to present numerous aspects of their occupations to our students.  Each presenter teaches a class of about twenty-five students, with the day culminating in a greater awareness of potential job fields.
