Father John led the council in prayer.
Call
to Order: Carrie Whitacre called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm.
Agenda
The agenda was approved as presented
Minutes:
The minutes from the July, meeting were approved as presented.
Buildings
and Maintenance:
Mark Sturino
introduced Joe Tuckner a new parish employee who will be responsible for
maintenance on both the church and the school.
Father
Parr and the council welcomed Joe to our parish and thanked Mark and the
committee for their work in filling the position after Mr. Don James retired.
Fall
Fest: Howard
Cameron reported that the Fall Fest will kick off with a teen
dance Friday, September 15, A silent auction including tickets to a Wisconsin
Badger Game will start on Saturday at 9:00am, Rick Reams will be cooking on
Saturday night and everyone was encouraged to come and enjoy the fun. Father
and the council thanked Howard and the Fall Fest committee for their efforts to
make the Fest a truly special parish event.

Anniversary Celebration: The
parish secretary agreed to run an announcement in the bulletin asking for
volunteers to chair a Celebration and report back to the council on the
results.
Project
Moses: The
council agreed to table the discussion to give the building and maintenance
committee an opportunity to formulate a policy regarding monuments on parish
property. The committee agreed to investigate the insurance, maintenance
and space issues regarding placing additional structures on parish property and
report back to the council at a later date.
Stewardship:
The council and committee representatives reviewed the submissions by each
committee for the Time and Talent book to be distributed to the parish in
October. Father Parr then led a discussion on the question, Why is
stewardship difficult for me? The council and committee representatives
discussed how we can personally respond to the call to serve as disciples of
Christ through giving of our Time and Talent and Treasure. Suggestions
were given as to how we can make the church a center of our lives instead of
something we visit on Sundays. Howard Cameron
and Claire Zajac said they would bring the suggestions back to the
Stewardship/Discipleship committee.
