Minutes of April Meeting

St. Patrick Church Pastoral Council
April, 2006 Minutes (approved)

Present:          Fr. John, Sr. Bernadette,   Ed Hanson , Rick Reams, Howard Cameron, Jeanne Darnold , Mary Seyer, Therese Bogenhagen, Sam Cari , Carrie Whitacre, Shawn Porter, Reg Klubeck

Prayer                        Father John led the council in prayer.

Call to Order: Father John called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm.

Agenda           The agenda was approved as presented

Minutes:         The minutes from the March , meeting were approved as presented.

Elections:        Father John welcomed Carrie Whitacre and Shawn Porter two new members of the council and stated that he looked forward to welcoming Rich O’Connor at the May meeting. Father John thanked the members of the nominating committee for their work on the elections. Discipleship: Howard Cameron and Claire Zajac reported that they would continue to meet with committees and would report back the council on their progress.
Committees:   The seven standing committees of St. Patrick’s parish are, Evangelization, Family Life, Social Concerns, Religious Formation, Education, Liturgy, Discipleship. The council agreed to look at possible changes in committee structure and responsibility at the May meeting. Parish Administrator: The committee reviewed a job description for parish administrator and agreed to continue the discussion of how a parish administrator could serve the people of St. Patrick at the May meeting.
Use of Church Space: After reviewing the requirements of the General Instruction for the Roman Missal, the council agreed to the following policy. The alter and the ambo and the presider’s chair are fixtures of the sanctuary that shall not be moved by any party at anytime. Any group including those within the parish who wish to use the sanctuary must agree to abide by this policy.
Appreciation: Father John thanked Ed Hanson , Terry Bogenhagen, and Randy Morrissette for their four years of service to the parish as members of the council
