St. Patrick Church Pastoral Council

Present:          Fr. John, Sam Cari,  Howard Cameron, , Mary Seyer,   Mark Sturino,  Jeanne Darnold, Rich O’Connor, Carrie Whitacre  Sr. Bernadette.

Also present:     Mary Piasecki, Reg Klubeck, , Maryann Kappler, Bev Radermacher, Kathy Smolinske, Ellen Hanten,  Jayne Cernohous,

Maureen and Ted Wegleitner, Claire Zajac .

 

Prayer                        Father John led the council in prayer.

Call to Order: Sam Cari called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.

Agenda           The agenda was  approved as presented

Minutes:         The minutes from the February, meeting were approved as presented.

 

Parish Administrator:   The committee will be conducting interviews in the next two weeks.  We may have a candidate hired by the May meeting.

 

Family Skills Workshop: The workshop was a joint effort of the Education Committee, RFP Committee, Family Life Committee, Faith Enrichment Committee and the Home and School Association.  The workshop was held on March 31 at the school.  Corwin Kronenberg the keynote speaker spoke on positive parenting through Love Limits and Laughter. The committees hope to make this an annual event.  Father John expressed his gratitude to all the committees who worked together to make this a parish project.

 

Social Concerns: Maureen and Ted Wegleitner, the co-chairs of the Social Concerns Committee shared with the council the many opportunities that are offered for parishioners to share their time and talent with those in need in our community.  This includes Disaster Relief Trips, Prison Ministry, work with our Sister Parish, and Fair Trade Coffee Sales.  Ted and Maureen spoke of their hope to create a place in Hudson for those in need of shelter.  Father John thanked Ted and Maureen and all the members of the committee, who meet on the first Tuesday of the month, for their wonderful work on behalf of those in need.

 

Closed Session: Chairperson Cari called the council to order in closed session at 7:45pm

The council was called back into open session at 8:30pm no action was taken.

 

Adjournment:            The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:30pm.
